1. get your mind around sth

還可以這樣說：

①get your head around sth

②wrap your mind around sth

它們的意思都是“弄懂（複雜或奇怪的事）“。

I find it hard to get my mind around such complex issues.

我發現自己很難弄懂這樣複雜的問題。

2. fair play

fair play第一個意思是“按規則比賽；公平競爭“，第二個意思是公平待遇，均等條件。

The committee's job is to ensure fair play between all the political parties during the election.

3. patch sth up

patch做動詞是“縫補；修補“，patch sth up的意思是“彌合（關係），和解“。

還可以表示“修理；（尤指）臨時草草修補“。

4. for what it's worth

英語釋義是“said when you are giving someone a piece of information and you are not certain if that information is useful or important“。

意思是“不管有用與否；無論價值如何“。

For what it's worth, I think he may be right.

不論是否有價值，我認爲他可能是正確的。

5. mean the world to sb

在英式口語裏，還可以說be (all) the world to sb。

可以理解爲，“是（某人）的一切；對（某人）來說非常重要“。

Her children mean the world to her.

她的幾個孩子就是她的一切。
