阿里巴巴宣佈成立達摩學院 3年研發投入將超千億元

The Alibaba Group announced that it will set up a new research institute and invest over 100 billion yuan (about 15 billion U.S. dollars) over the next three years in advanced technology development.

阿里巴巴集團近日宣佈，將在未來三年內，在有關先進技術的發展上，建立一個新的研究機構並投資超過1000億元人民幣(約150億美元)。

The DAMO Academy aims to attract world-class talent in such areas as quantum computing, machine learning, basic algorithms and network security.

達摩學院的目標是在量子計算、機器學習、基本算法和網絡安全等領域吸引世界級一流人才。

DAMO stands for "discovery, adventure, momentum and outlook."

DAMO代表着“探索、冒險、動力和展望”。

It has built partnerships with more than 200 research institutes and universities and started establishing branches in Asia, America and Europe.

目前該學院已經與200多個研究機構和大學建立了合作關係，並開始在亞洲、美洲和歐洲建立分支機構。

Michael I. Jordan, a leading scientist in artificial intelligence and professor at University of California, Berkeley as well as Jeannette M. Wing, director of the Data Sciences Institute at Columbia University, are among the members of the DAMO academic advisory committee.

人工智能方面的傑出科學家、加州伯克利大學教授邁克爾·I·喬丹，哥倫比亞大學數據科學研究院主任周以真，都是達摩學院學術諮詢委員會中的成員。

Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma said he hopes Alibaba Group, which has 25,000 engineers and scientists, can make achievements in future-oriented cutting-edge technology through DAMO.

阿里巴巴董事長馬雲表示，他希望阿里巴巴這個擁有2.5萬名工程師和科學家的集團，能夠通過DAMO在面向未來的前沿技術方面取得成就。
