BEIJING: Budding Chinese sleuths could start stalking foreigners as suspected spies in Beijing after authorities in the city on Monday offered a cash bonanza for information on overseas agents.

在北京市當局週一宣佈爲揭發外國間諜提供現金獎勵後，中國初露頭角的偵探們可以開始跟蹤疑似間諜的外國人了。

Members of the public can report suspected espionage through a special hotline by mail or in person and will be rewarded with up to 500000 yuan ($72460) in compensation if their intelligence is deemed useful.

市民可以通過電郵或者親自前往，經由一條特別熱線報告涉嫌間諜活動，若其情報被採用，可獲高達500000元（合72460美元）的獎金。
