低碳環保的英語演講稿1

hello:

everyone!now i want to talk about a beatiful world!

when i was young,i always dreamed that i lived in a beautiful country.

there were many flowers and trees around our city.

we counld hear the birds singing and see the children dancing.

the streets were clear and the the air was very fresh! how nice it was!butthat only was a dream of mine!how i wish that it would be come true! so i thinkwe should do something to protect our environment.

everyone should make a contribution to protect the environment.

taking care of our environment is very important.

wherever you live, you can do something around your neighbourhood.

have you ever thrown any litter onto the ground?have you ever drawnpictures on public walls?have you ever spat in a public place?have you ever cutdown trees?if your answers are "no",it means that you have already helpedprotect our environment.

it is our duty to keep our envionment clean and tidy.

you might ask yourself,"have i ever picked up some rubbish and thrown itinto a dustbin?have i ever collected waste paper or bottles for recycling?have iever planted any trees or flowers in or near my neighbourhood?"if your answersare"yes",it means that you have already done something useful to improve theenvironment.

now i want to say :let's do our best to make our world more beautiful!

honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen.

today,we are gathering here to discuss a very hot issue.

how to find harmony in a new age between man and nature? where modernscience and technology are concerned i am only a layman i have to say.

however, living in this "new age" , seeing my dear ones suffering fromrespiratory diseases from time to time, finding the beautiful colors of greenand blue are being replaced by that of gray and pale, and realizing that ourmother planet is getting more and more unhealthy; i can't help trying to offermy idea and my trivial efforts to look for the answer of the question.

as the ancient greek oracle goes: know thyself.

i think in answering this above-mentioned question, this precondition isalso very important.

who are we? this is a question, which should be answered not only by thosespecialists, but also by every one of human beings.

some people may proudly say: we are the masters of nature.

it is true that the idea of "man can conquer nature" has dominated people'smind for years, and it is true, man has kept acting like a master and doingwhatever things he wants for thousands of years.

however, as the consequence of this kind of "leadership" , now the "master"seems to be confronted with problems that are far beyond his control.

facts are really very ample.

the

green house effect leaves islands and cities along the coast, such as thisoriental pearl-shanghai, in danger of the disaster of being drowned; the holesof the ozone layer make the earth less suitable to live for some creaturesincluding human beings; the phenomena of el nino and la nina leave the land withserious flood and drought, and the diseases, caused by pollution, are increasingat an incredible speed.

seeing all these facts, can we still ignore the counterattack of nature? weare not the masters of nature.

facing all the disasters made by ourselves, we, mankind as a whole shouldrealize that we are just a normal member of the big family of nature.

any mistreatment towards nature will meet only with the revenge fromher.

by saying so, i do not mean we should give a sudden stop to anydevelopment.

because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society.

i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence anddevelopment to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will getthe situation of win-win.

i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every cornerof the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way touniversal and continuous progress and prosperity.

and i think that is why we come here from all over the country to discussthis topic today.

i want to end my speech by quoting from mr.

nixon.

"our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice ofopportunity." the future is not ours to see of course.

however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly aboutourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony withnature!

thank you.

On a Saturday morning. I went to have breakfast. I felt there was aterrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. I found that there was abig pile of banana skins giving out the smell.Just then a young fellow holding adustpan rubbish to walk towards here . He raised his hands, The big pile ofrubbish was here. At once I went to him and said “Uncle , you can’t do like this. These things will rot very soon. It’s bad for our health and make the peoplefall ill.” However ,the man said “Everyone does so ,who falls ill,who will seethe doctor.”

Looking at this , I remembered another act : There is a stream through ourvillage. Over it there are two bridges .At the age of seven years old , Ienjoyed the beautiful scenery under the bridge very much. It was the best placeto swim in summer. But now the rubbish was getting more and more .Dishleaves, fruit skins, dead ducks and chickens…after rotting ,not only the mosquitosflew around but also the bad smell made everyone feel quite terrible.Though thestream was cleaned up several times, it’s still happening now. A lot of plasticbags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far away from the village toswim.

What causes this? Who is the devil? It’s the human ourselves. I have got toknown from a book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields anddamages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil, wave ,atmosphere and damages ourhealth. The adults often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able tomake woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life?

Schoolmates, we are the host of society tomorrow . It’s our duty to improveand build the safe invironment.

Safety is in our hands .We must take park in more environmental protectionactivities, Plant more trees and flowers to make us live in a beautiful homewith the blue sky ,blue water and green land forever.

Safety is in our hands . Please try your best to tell people around you todeal with the rubbish , and to make a contribution to building our safehometome.

We all know Tagore. This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us,and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and weearn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to askfor more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to thenature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energyto make them than they produce? And just one simple battery can pollute as muchwater as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures areamazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? Ifpossible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will bemade into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak interms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people becomemuch clearer about the problem.

We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protectthe environment. For example, our class set up a recycling center beside theback door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plasticbottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into thetrashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not sowarm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others andjoined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form agood habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusablethings instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment isour duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end thisspeech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Be good to the trees. Smile atthe sunshine, and bow to the breeze. Be friendly to nature, and nature will befriendly to you!”

What is nature? It's everything that exists in the world independently ofpeople, such as pants and animals, earth and rocks, and the weather.

Now more and more people are focusing on the nature. It is no doubt thatthe nature is important to every human being. No nature, no life. Because of thesupplies of the nature, we have lived happily for a long time. And we started togain every thing available from the nature. And this lasted so long a time.Today, people have discovered that the nature around is getting worse andworse.

What is threatening the nature? Air and water pollution, overharvesting ofplant and animal species, overpopulation and so on. Overpopulation is thebiggest source of pollution. Let's take overpopulation as an example.

What does overpopulation feel like? When we move slowly through the city ina tazi. When we enter a crowded slum district. When the temperature is high andwhen the air is thick with dust and smoke. The streets are crowded with people. The streets seem alive with people. People eating. People washing. Peopletalking. People sleeping. People visiting each other, arguing and screaming.People relieving themselves. People pushing their hands through the taxiwindows, begging. People leading animals. People, people, people, people. As wedrive slowly through the crowd, sounding the taxi's horn, the dust, heat, noiseand cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! I admit, frightening.

To the nature, overpopulation is a big problem. More people, morepollution. And the big population is threatening the nature every second.

The rapid rise in world population is not creating problems only for thedeveloping countries. The whole world faces the problem that raw materials arebeing used up at an increasing rate and food production can not keep up with thepopulation increase. People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on theworld's resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution. A babyborn in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the world'sresources than a baby born in India. Unless all the countries of the world takeunited action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and morepeople fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.

For most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control thepopulation growth. For example, China has carried out birth control for years. And this plan has a great effect on the world population.

If the population continues to increase, if the air and water continue tobe polluted, if we don't do something to protect wild-plant and wildlife specieswill be declining. Species and biological communities have difficulty adaptingto change. Economic opportunities and the quality of life of future generationsare also put at risk. By protecting nature, we protect ourselves.

Let's unite together, hand in hand we stand all across the land.

We can make this world in which to live. Hand in hand. Control thepopulation growth. Take good care of our nature.
