　　一. prefer + 名詞

prefer sth (to sth)

只表達喜歡某一個事物時，括號裏的成分省略;涉及兩個事物比較時，加上括號裏的成分。下同。

具體如下：

1. prefer sth

Does he prefer a particular sort of music?

他更喜歡某種特別的音樂嗎?

2. prefer sth to sth else

I prefer tea to coffee.

相比咖啡，我更喜歡茶。

　　二. prefer + 動名詞

prefer doing (to doing)

具體如下：

1. prefer doing

I prefer watching TV at lunch.

我喜歡在吃午飯時看電視。

2. prefer doing sth to doing sth else

I prefer staying at home to strolling outside.

我喜歡在家待着，而不喜歡在外面閒逛。

　　三. prefer + 不定式

prefer todo (rather than do)

具體如下：

1. prefer to do

I prefer to stay at home = I prefer staying at home.

即 prefer to do 和 prefer doing 可以互換，可以認爲意思沒有區別。

2. prefer to do rather than do

I prefer to stay at home rather than stroll around = I prefer staying at home to strolling around.

即 prefer to do rather than do = prefer doing to doing.

　　四. prefer + 賓語 + 不定式 (充當賓語補足語)
