1、閱讀能力從何而來?
更多的是從泛讀中來，而不是精讀。這個問題如同在問：生活經驗從何而來?給一個稚氣未脫的孩子講解結婚的程序，離婚的道理，難道他就象成年人一樣會駕御生活了嗎?否!精讀課文往往短小精悍，生詞多，語法點多，是用來學習語言知識的。切記：語言知識不是語言能力。單純背一萬個單詞，熟記語法規則並不能保證在正常的時間之內，準確領悟篇章的內容。因爲語言知識不是一下子就能轉化爲能力的。就如同小孩學習成年人的生活。泛讀的過程是將知識轉化爲能力的過程。
2、泛讀的特點：
閱讀量。短期內提高能力需要五十萬詞彙到兩百萬詞彙的閱讀量，具體的量視不同的人和不同目標而定。
3、持續時間：
3個月——半年
4、閱讀材料：
簡單原則(生詞量控制在百分之三左右)。讀太難的文章是自虐，打擊自信，惡性循環;讀太簡單的文章是自欺欺人，原地踏步。學語言的基本規律：合適的材料讀多了，難的自然就變簡單了。
知識趣味原則：reading for pleasure and information， not for English grammar and words.
5、每天的閱讀量和時間安排：
八千詞彙，兩個小時左右。
6、基本閱讀方法：
不爲單純的學英語而讀，爲了獲取知識與樂趣，要與書本產生知識和思想上的交流。一遍讀過，不回頭，讀懂70%-80%的內容即可。基本不查單詞，除非單詞對領悟文章的核心內容構成障礙。
7、積累和複習：
查過的詞彙不註解其漢語意思，而是將其所在的句子一併copy下來，當作筆記。利用零星時間，比如上廁所，吃飯，等女朋友時，翻閱筆記，回憶詞彙，回憶句子，回憶文章。這樣可以鞏固知識面，鞏固句法結構，鞏固詞彙，做到一石三鳥。(鄙人做過不少筆記，其中有一條是關於睡眠的：Sleep， to me， is like a coy mistress，much given to a teasing inconsistency and for ever demanding to be wooed —— lest too light winning make the prize light. 對我而言，睡眠如同一個扭捏的情人，過分沉溺於挑逗上的斷斷續續，並且永遠要求被追求，以免太輕巧的獲勝使獎品變的不值錢了。)哈哈!多麼經典呀，談過戀愛的男生都知道
注意事項：
1、一定要有成就感，沒有成就感就無法堅持。
2、材料要適合自己，不然只有挫折感。
3、選擇大腦清醒時讀，感覺不適就放下采集者退散
4、時不時獎勵自己，比如一個冰激凌或者情人的吻，建立良性循環。
