　（電話響起 戴夫與吉娜在說話）
Zina: So will you come to work with us?

Dave: Can I use my green pad again to write you admiring notes?

Zina: We'll have to negotiate that. It's a possibility.

Dave: You miss me, don't you?

Zina: Don't push your luck, Dave.

Dave: OK, I'm in. When do I start?

Zina: As soon as you can get here. We'll be waiting for you.

1. push one's luck 得寸進尺
　　人有時候不懂得察言觀色，吃了一點甜頭還不知節制，若是你遇到這種“得寸進尺”push one's luck 的人，就可以送他這句話 Don't push your luck.“你別得寸進尺了。” 給他來點小小的警告，以免對方樂極生悲。 例如：

A: I will be in charge of this company in five years.

我會在五年內掌管這家公司。

　　B: Don't push your luck. If the boss hears you say that, you'll be without a job.

你別得寸進尺。要是老闆聽到你說這話，你連工作都會沒有。

2.　I'm in. 我加入
　　I'm in.這個好用又好記的短句的意思是“我加入”。舉凡你被詢問到參加的意願，只要你想加入，都可以用上這個句型； 相反地來說，若你不想加入，或是加入了以後想要放棄，你就可以說 I'm out.“我退出，我放棄”。 例如：

A: We're all goingmming in the lake. Are you coming?

我們要去湖中游泳，你要來嗎？

B: Yep, I'm in.

好，我加入。

　　吉娜： 所以你要來跟我們工作嗎？

　戴夫： 我還能再用我的綠色便條紙，寫愛慕的話語給你嗎？

吉娜： 這我們再研究研究。可能性是有的。

　戴夫： 你很想我，對不對？

吉娜： 你別得寸進尺了，戴夫。

戴夫： 好，我加入。何時開工？

吉娜： 等你一到這裏就開工。 我們恭候大駕。
