今天，我們來學習三種表示有能力做某，勝任某個職位或工作的表達法：

 表達法1：be able to do something，這是最最常用的表達法了，表示有能力，能夠做某事：
I'm afraid I won't be able to make our date tonight.
恐怕今晚我不能來赴約了。
This complaint is too complicated; I don't see I'm able to handle it.
這個投訴太複雜，我覺得自己沒有能力來處理它。
Are you able to solve this problem?
你能解決這個問題嗎？

那麼由be able to do something 演變一下的反義詞，沒有能力做某事怎麼表達呢。太簡單不多了，be unable to do something：
Tony is unable to meet the deadline of the report.
託尼無法按期交上這個報告。
This obstacle makes us unable to make any progress.
這個困境使得我們沒法取得任何進展。

 表達法2：be qualified to do something, be qualified for something: 有資格（有能力）勝任或做某事：
She is highly qualified to be an English teacher.
她當英語教師很夠格。
Your team is bound not to be qualified for the next round.
你的隊伍註定不會晉級下一輪。
This applicant should be well qualified for this job.
這位應徵者應該完全具備這項工作的條件。

 表達法3：Be competent in + 名詞/動名詞， 有能力做某事，能勝任某事
She is competent in the discharge of her duties.
她善於履行職責。
We know you are competent in managing this project.
我們知道你可以勝任管理這個項目.
There are a lot of doctors in our hospital, only a few of whom are competent in their work.
我們醫院有許多醫生，其中只有少數是稱職的。
